क्यान्सरका बिरामीलाई रेडियोथेरापीद्वारा उपचार गर्ने कोबोल्ट–६० मेसिन बिग्रेको १९ महिना भइसकेको छ । त्यसयता वीरका बिरामी महँगो उपचारका लागि अन्य अस्पतालमा जान बाध्य छन् ।
वीर अस्पतालले ५ हजार रुपैयाँमा रेडियोथेरापी सेवा दिँदै आएको छ । भक्तपुर क्यान्सर अस्पतालले त्यही सेवा दिन २५ हजार रुपैयाँ लिन्छ भने निजी अस्पतालले ७५ हजारदेखि १ लाख २५ हजार रुपैयाँसम्म असुल्दै आएका छन् ।
वीर अस्पतालको कोबाल्ट मेसिन बिग्रनुअघि प्रत्येक दिन ७०–८० जना क्यान्सर जाँच र उपचारका निम्ति आउने गर्थे । ‘अचेल प्रत्येक दिन ३०–४० जना क्यान्सर जाँचका लागि आउने गरेका छन्,’ क्लिनिकल अंकोलोजी डिपार्टमेन्ट प्रमुख सहप्राध्यापक डा. विवेक आचार्यले नागरिकसँग भने, ‘क्यान्सरका बिरामीको उपचारका निम्ति रेडियोथेरापी मेसिन हामीसँग छैन, जुन हामीलाई तत्कालै आवश्यक छ ।’
